Preschool parents will be arriving on campus every day beginning at 7:45am. By this time, our children in kindergarten through grade 5 will already be in their respective classrooms. Preschool parents will be parking their cars and walking their children to the preschool daily. The regular preschool day ends at 2:00pm, and parents are required to walk in and pick up their children between 2:00 and 2:30pm. They will be parking along the turnaround curb and just behind the cars parked in the diagonal stalls.
We are all doing our best to get your children ready and waiting at the pick-up areas. Please keep in mind that this is a school, and because we are working with children, we know there may be momentary delays. I ask that you be patient as you wait for your child. I’ve been surprised by the few drivers who’ve tried to cut off others as they try to leave the turnaround in a hurry!
You can help us expedite the process by having the cards with your child’s name written in large, clear letters on your visor or in the lower right corner of the dashboard. Then we can call out the names in advance, and get your child ready. Considering this is Day #9, our morning and afternoon pick-up and drop-off routines are going well, thanks to your cooperation.
Parent Intake Day is tomorrow, Friday, August 26. The conference is intended to be between parent(s) and teacher(s). If you must bring your child, we ask that you take your child to the dining room and pick up your child after your meeting. We will have some books, art materials, and board games available.
We hope to see you at the Grand Opening on Saturday, between 3:00 and 6:00pm. The blessing is at 3:15pm, and then you can walk the entire campus and visit classrooms with your child and family. Our faculty and staff will be on hand to greet you. Light refreshments will be in the dining room. It’s amazing we have come this far!
For our children,
Edna L. Hussey
