It seems hard to believe how quickly the time is passing.
The students have decided their topics of interest for their inquiry projects. The class is divided into five groups, all researching either dinosaurs or prehistoric reptiles. We are just brainstorming what we know and would like to know. Learning what makes a good research question is part of the process. I’ll keep you posted once we begin the actual research.
Also, we know what holiday is just around the corner; students are already discussing costumes! Naturally, we’ll be hosting our annual Spooktivity celebration. More info is forthcoming. In addition, our class will be carving pumpkins. I have tentatively chosen Friday, October 27, 12:45-2:00 p.m., for this annual activity. If schedules permit, we’d love to have a few parents come to help. We’d also welcome a donation of five pumpkins for the class to carve (we’ll be doing a pumpkin math activity as well). Either send a note with your child or send me an e-mail when you get a chance. Thank you!
