An Amazing Adventure!

Aloha Parents,
I suspect your children have been coming home with stories of albino whales, two-headed snakes, banished planets, trilobites, fish fossils, dinosaurs, creation stories, and Marines. These are just a few of the exciting subjects we are learning about in our very dynamic classroom. We often talk about how life is like a path through a world of knowledge, and learning is all the adventures we get to have along our way!
A special mahalo R. G.-L.'s father who came today in his Marine uniform to tell us about the military, his training, rank, medals, and job as a recruiter. The children's "Thank You" letters and drawings clearly expressed their appreciation of his visit.
I am very pleased with the children's attitudes, motivation, and progress in reading. This is a reflection of your involvement and encouragement at home. Thank you for every minute you take to read to your child, allow them to read to you, read together, or talk with them about what they are reading. It makes a world of difference in their young lives!
We appreciate the generosity of the families who are sharing their fascinating books about dinosaurs, fossils, and prehistoric life and fossils of a trilobites, ammonites, leaves, and fish. The children used magnifying glasses this morning to investigate the fossils more closely, and I heard a couple of our young scientists theorizing about how they formed! This will be a great topic for their Inquiry research. We are beginning to transform our room into a Prehistoric Environment so watch out for the pterodon, T-rex, and preshistoric shark the next time you stop by for a visit!
Be sure and check the Photo Gallery for great shots your children on their amazing learning adventure.

Ms. Revard
