Thank Yous to Parents and Children!
Thank you to Vanessa Meyer for donating a skeleton craft kit for the class to make their own skeletons to help us understand the skeletal system. The children learned that there are 28 bones in the human hand, humans have opposable thumbs, and there are 206 bones in the human body. Mrs. Meyer also brought in cupcakes that the children decorated with skeleton candies. The children especially loved doing this! Thank you to J.J. and his mom.
Thank you to the birthday girl and her family for donating three books to the class to celebrate her fifth birthday. Thank you also to the Kim family for the delicious cookies for her birthday snack.
Thank you to Wendy Handa and Monique Todebush for continuing to keep our class well supplied with delicious snacks that the children enjoy eating in the afternoon. We really appreciate their generosity.
Thank you to the following families for so generously donating books and a DVD to our class: the Chen family, the Handa family, the Kim family, the E. Nakata family, and the Todebush family. These educational materials are a wonderful addition to our classroom library.
Homework
The children did a fabulous job with their second handwriting homework assignment! Today we are sending home more handwriting homework in a yellow homework folder. This week, there are five pages of uppercase and lowercase E’s and F’s. Please have your child do one page of E’s and one page of F’s each night. They should use their best handwriting and take their time to form each letter correctly. Please return the yellow homework folder next week Wednesday, October 4.
Inquiry: The Human Body
The students have been continuing to learn the correct name, placement, and functions of the organs in the human body. This week the students learned about the different bones in the human skeletal system.
