The children created word labels for their human body models. They then matched each organ with the correct word label. If you have time, please stop by the classroom to take a look at the human body models displayed in our windows! Here is a list of the human body word labels that the children created: brain, lungs, heart, liver, kidneys, bladder, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, bones, muscles, skin, skull bone, neck bone, spine or back bone, rib cage, shoulder bone, arm bone, wrist bone, hand bone, finger bone, hip bone, thigh bone, leg bone, kneecap, ankle bone, foot bone, toe bone
Math
We are finishing up our focus on patterns and collecting data. We are now focusing on number formation, number sense, counting on and up to 10 accurately with one-to-one correspondence, and simple addition and subtraction with fact families below 5. We will also be working with non-standard units of measure as we measure our human body to see how tall we are and how longs our arms and legs are.
Homework
This week, there are five pages of uppercase and lowercase G’s and H’s. Please have your child do one page of G’s and one page of H’s each night. Please return the yellow homework folder next week on Wednesday, October 11.
